This wood bat league will bring athletes from around the country as well as showcasing ball players from Colorado that you may have watched when they were in high school. They are competitors and play every inning hard. We wish them luck in their conference tournament but hope to see them at the Triple Crown Invitational Tournament. Khaos Find Themselves on top After Nail Biter After 8 innings of aggressive baseball the Khaos finally drove in a run of a triple hit by Wade Johnson. The Khaos closed off the bottom of the inning to win 4-3. Hunter Haggerty went 2-5 with a triple for the Bandits. Brandon Buchanon also went 2-5 with a double. Bulldogs Beat Colorado Khaos(RMBL) JL Buchanan, Matt Specht, and Dustin Stallings all posted RBI's in the 1st inning to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead. The Khaos battled back scoring 1 run in the 1st inning and again the in 3rd inning, but the Bulldogs played solid defense to hold them scoreless the rest of the game. Bulldogs and Renegades put on a Show in front of 100+ fans! Game 1 on Sunday was a tribute to how the game of baseball is supposed to be played. Both teams left it all out on the field and the result was one of the most exciting games of the summer. The underdog Renegades led the Bulldogs 5-4 going into the 6th inning until the Bulldogs put a rally together sparked by Joe Alexanders 2nd HR of the season. The Renegades couldn't strike back and lost 7-5. Matt Specht went 3-4 for the Bulldogs. Colin Hacker was 2-3 with a double and Ryan Daniel went 3-4 for the Renegades. Bulldogs Bounce Back From Loss and Beat Colorado Aliens in Close Game Catcher Brett Bowman of Metro State doubled in the third inning to score the first run of the game. The Aliens came back in the fourth and scored 2 off a triple by Juan Martinez and a single from Chris Murray. In the fifth Nick Arapkiles of Otero JC singled to start the inning and then scored to tie it up. Going into the bottom of the 7th with the score tied Cody Hollenbeck got on base on a fielders choice scoring JL Buchanan who was on third to win the game. Bandits Beat League Leaders The Bandits beat the Bulldogs 3-1 Saturday. Sam Hayes of CSU went 2-3 with an RBI for the Bandits and Cody Hollenbeck had the only RBI for the Bulldogs. Bandits Roll Renegades 8-1 Despite missing their starting catcher the Bandits still pulled off a win in the morning game Saturday. Josh Guber of Western Nebraska C.C. stepped up for the Bandits filling in as the catcher and went 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI's. Aliens Shutout TC Renegades in Game 2 The Renegades lost 6-0 to the Colorado Aliens of the RMBL in game 2 of interleague play sunday. Pitcher Derek Laughmann threw a complete game 1 hit shutout for the Aliens. Game 1 of Interleague Showdown Ends up with TC Bandits on Top After 7 solid innings of well played baseball the Bandits pulled off a 6-4 win over the Colorado Aliens of the RMBL in Denver. The Bandits were lead defensively by Brandon Buchanon of University of Nebraska Kearney who played a great game at Short Stop. Offensively Tyler Keith and Josh Guber both went 2-3 with a double. Juan Martinez went 2-4 with a double for the Aliens. Bandits Beat Renegades 3-0 Sunday Nick Stringari of CSU went 2-2 for the Bandits. The Bulldogs made a push in the top of the 7th and scored one run, but were shut down by pitcher Dave Ottermann who threw a complete game. Walks Hurt Bandits in Game 1 vs Bulldogs Although Brandon Kozanecki went 2-3 for the Bulldogs, most of the runs scored came from walks including the winning run to put the Bulldogs over the Bandits 7-6. Shane Leever went 3-4 with a triple for the Bandits. _________________________________________________ Bulldogs Find Themselves on top of Bandits After Exciting Game Connor Gardiner of Hastings College hit his second HR of the summer in the top of the first inning to put his team up 1 - 0. The Bandits struck back in the second with a 2 run inning. The Bulldogs trailed the Bandits until Andrew Eggers had a game changing diving catch in CF in the 6th inning with 2 outs preventing 2 runs from scoring. The Bulldogs came up to bat in the top of the 7th inning down 4 - 6. Joe Alexander hit a double with one out and Brett Bowman of Metro State drove him in with a single to right center field. With the score now 5 - 6 with the Bulldogs still trailing, Matt Specht is hit by a pitch and Andrew Eggers is walked. Nick Arapkiles of Otero JC steps up to the plate with bases loaded and 2 outs. Arapkiles in a 1-1 count drove the pitch over the right fielders head for a base clearing double putting the Bulldogs ahead 6 - 4. All teams are 1-1 in league play. Cavasos, Gardiner, and Arapkiles lead Bulldogs past Bandits Game 2 Saturday featured the Bulldogs against the Bandits. Chad Correa was the starting pitcher for the Bandits and threw well through 4 innings but the Bulldogs offense came out strong for their summer opener. For the Bulldogs Josh Cavasos of Huston Tillotson University was 2-3 with 3 RBI's. Connor Gardiner of Hastings College was 2-4 with a HR, 2 RBI's, and 2 stolen bases.
